Yamashina is the eastern gateway to Kyoto, rich in nature, surrounded by beautiful mountains including the Higashiyama mountain range. ●Bishamondo Temple

●Zuishin-in Temple
This temple is associated with Ono no Komachi, one of the three most beautiful women in the world. Ruins related to Komachi remain at the temple. The temple is also famous for its ""hanezu plum blossoms""(double-petaled plum blossoms).
●Yamashina Canal
Where the Lake Biwa Canal runs through Yamashina area, cherry blossoms and rape blossoms in the spring and autumn leaves in the fall adorn the riverside.
This is a town where Kiyomizu-yaki potteries, artists, and wholesale shops are gathered. Visitors can experience a wide variety of Kiyomizu-yaki pottery, from traditional to modern artists.
