Kyoto’s relatively quiet streets are ideal for cycling, and the sightseeing tour includes stops at famous landmarks such as the photogenic Fushimi Inari, best known for its thousands of torii gates. The day ends with dinner at Monk, where chef Yoshihiro Imai serves sumptuous meals of ingredients foraged or sourced from the mountains of Ohara and the markets of Kyoto.

After a private guided walking tour of Arashiyama, relax and unwind at Suiran Spa, a tranquil sanctuary of time-honored healing rituals. Nestled within a secluded Japanese garden, Suiran has two treatment rooms, each featuring a traditional private open-air bath fed with healing waters cultivated from the Arashiyama hot springs.

Day 4

The fourth day of the tour begins with a private and guided early morning stroll around the picturesque Arashiyama area, where the colors of the forests can go from a deep and lush green in the spring and all kinds of vibrant reds in the fall. After the meditative stroll, a chauffeur will drive you up the up the mountains for a glorious lunch at the two-Michelin starred restaurant Miyamasou, at a centuries-old ryokan of the same time. Situated by a gurgling brook, Miyamasou, which originally served pilgrims on their way to nearby Daihizan Bujoji temple, is run by fourth-generation owner Hisato Nakagihashi, who leads a team in foraging for fresh ingredients every day. After lunch, the chauffeur will take you back to Suiran, where you can enjoy a relaxing soak at the open-air hot spring in your own quarters.
