NORYO YUKA & KAWADOKO Summer Riverside Dining
NORYO YUKA & KAWADOKO Summer Riverside Dining
Dining at a “noryo yuka” or a “kawadoko” where you can enjoy meals in the cool breeze blowing across the water is one of the perfect ways to enjoy Kyoto’s hot summers. The iconic outdoor tables of restaurants facing riversides are in the Kamogawa, Kibune, Takao and Shozan areas. Depending on the area, they are either called “noryo yuka” or “kawadoko.” Among them, the Kamogawa Noryo Yuka along the Kamo River is said to have a history dating back to the 1600’s.
