After its opening in 1975, this movie theme park has been used as a set for various historical films, as well as a tourist attraction. In 2026 it underwent a large-scale renewal and is now aiming to improve its appeal as an immersive experience park with the theme of Edo-period (1603-1868) Kyoto that targets not only families, but also adults.
Uzumasa Eigamura recreates the traditional townscape of Edo, and offers immersive live shows and nighttime events. Visitors can enjoy partaking in tea ceremony, flower arrangement, Noh theater, as well as adult-only night events such as Edo-style gambling and torture house. Experience it for yourself to witness the past and present of this iconic theme park.
