Fukuda Art Museum

The Fukuda Art Museum opened in 2019 in the scenic Arashiyama area of Kyoto. Its collection primarily focuses on Japanese paintings, encompassing a wide range of famous artists from various eras. You can find works of highly popular figures such as Itō Jakuchū, Maruyama Ōkyo and Nagasawa Rosetsu, to modern masters such as Takeuchi Seihō, Uemura Shōen, and Yokoyama Taikan, as well as contemporary art. Special exhibitions are held 3-4 times a year.

Many of the displayed works are easily accessible, chosen in order to evoke a sense of awe even in those unfamiliar with Japanese paintings.

The gallery has been built to resemble a traditional Japanese storehouse, featuring display cases with high-transparency glass and state-of-the-art lightning system, creating the ideal environment for appreciating Japanese art.

Visitors can rest at the museum café “Bread, Espresso & Fukuda Art Museum” while enjoying the view of the Ōi River and Togetsukyo Bridge.
