Comfortable access to major tourist destinations
To reach Kyoto's sightseeing spots, it is quick and comfortable to first take a train, then change to a bus if necessary, or walk to your destination. Check out the recommended routes and whether coin lockers are available to make your trip a smooth one!
Fushimi (Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine)
■Access from Kyoto Station
To get to Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine from Kyoto Station, we recommend using the JR Nara Line. It takes about 9 minutes to arrive. Please note that rapid trains do not stop at JR Inari Station.
After getting off at JR Inari Station, you will immediately see a large red torii gate and the main approach to the temple. Continue walking east and will get there soon.
Try to avoid the City Bus South No. 5, as it is expected to vary in time by more than 24 minutes.
■Access from Shijo Kawaramachi (Keihan Gion-shijo Station)
Direct access from Keihan Gion-shijo Station to Fushimi Inari Station is recommended. It takes about 22 minutes to arrive.
Note that limited express trains do not stop at Fushimi Inari Station.
After arriving at Fushimi Inari Station, walk east for about 5 minutes. Along the way, there is a temple town, a fun area filled with souvenir shops and Kyoto-style restaurants.
After crossing the Inari Bridge and the JR line crossing, you will come to the main approach to Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. You will soon see the red torii gate leading to the main shrine.
