Every year from January through March, a number of temples, shrines and other cultural sites in Kyoto hold special opening events. A different theme is chosen each time. This year’s event will focus on places associated with Toyotomi Hidenaga (1540 – 1591) and his brother Hideyoshi (1537 – 1598), both famous warlords of Japan’s Warring States period (1467 – 1615).
13 important cultural properties related to the time period in which the Toyotomi brothers lived will be available for visits, including locations which have never been open to the public before.
Take part in the “Kyoto Winter Special Openings” to experience the unique charm of this city and its historical sites during the colder months!
