The Kyoto City Tourism Association is launching a new tour with the KVH (Kyoto City Visitors Host)!
The KVH organizes tours that are aimed primarily at first-time tourists in Kyoto. These tours allow participants to not only enjoy learning about Kyoto’s history and culture, but also to discover important sustainable tourism practices for the city, including hands-free travel and guidelines for etiquette in public transportation.

FUSHIMI INARI TAISHA Shrine English Guided Tour
Explore one of Kyoto’s most famous sacred sites on this 60-minute guided tour of the renowned Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. Its awe-inspiring architecture and iconic Torii gates form an unforgettable spectacle.
The Kyoto City Visitors Hosts, Kyoto City’s official guides, will welcome you to this sacred place and explain the history and significance of Fushimi Inari aisha Shrine while sharing local customs and traditions. You will stroll through the famous Senbon Torii – the pathway lined with hundreds of vermillion gates. Additionally, tour participants will be given the exclusive opportunity to witness a Kagura performance at the Kagura Hall, featuring a sacred traditional dance performed by “Kagurame” female shrine attendants.
By the end of this tour, participants will have gained a deeper insight into Kyoto’s customs and practices.
This tour is officially supported by Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine.

Know before you go
- This tour will be conducted only in English.
- Please refrain from taking pictures and videos during the “Kagura” performance, a sacred traditional dance performed by “Kagurame” female shrine attendants.
- Each paid participant can bring one child (ages 0-12) to join for free.
- Earphones are provided only to paying participants. If children require earphones, please purchase adult tickets for them.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the tour.
- If you wish to bring more than one child to the tour, each additional child requires an adult ticket.
- Please make sure you arrive well before the start of the tour.
- Please be at the meeting point 10 minutes early. Tours start on time. If you arrive late, please find the guide and join the group.
- This tour is unavailable on days when large-scale events or festivals are held at the shrine. Please check the reservation calendar for availability.
