Gion is a prestigious gay quarters. The south part of the town is registered as a "historical landscape preservation area," and particularly full of the atmosphere of old Gion. This branch of the Yagenbori chain is located a little bit off the opposite side of Ichiriki-jaya. Its Kaiseki cuisine is made with seasonal fresh ingredients using originality and ingenuity, and gains popularity especially with customers from Tokyo and abroad. Yagenbori's Sueyoshi-cho branch is located not too far away to the north.
