Gion Matsuno serves Kyo Kaiseki and eel dishes, and its motto is "Kyoto's traditional tastes at modest prices." Using fresh eels directly sent from producers, it always strives to attain best quality. Its top three popular dishes are Unaju (broiled eel on rice), Seiromushi (eel steamed in basket) and Unagizen (set menu of broiled eel). Gion Matsuno is very close to Minamiza Kabuki Theater and conveniently located for visiting Yasaka Shrine and strolling through the Gion area. It has many repeat customers from inside and outside the city.
