Dance performances take place annually from late March through May at theaters across Kyoto’s five kagai—the city’s traditional geiko and maiko entertainment districts.
This spring, four of the five kagai will present their distinctive performances to the public.
Beyond the graceful dancing, you’ll experience elegant kimono, expressive artistry, and live music performed by geiko and maiko. Each kagai has its own unique style and repertoire, so every performance offers a different story and experience.
