The procession of Aoi Matsuri Festival, one of the three main annual festivals of Kyoto, will be held on May 15. It is an elegant and faithful representation of an important historical event in Kyoto’s long history.

Royal seats, set up near Kenreimon Gate of Kyoto Imperial Palace, and featuring live English or Japanese commentary* given by an expert. A commemorative fan and hollyhock hat (aoi katsura) are included in these seats.

*Participants must bring their own internet-connected device, such as a smartphone, and earphones to listen to the commentary.

*Front row seats located closest to the procession can be reserved for both general and royal seats. All seats come with an official guidebook, live commentary and a commemorative card.
