Kyoto Experiment is a performing arts festival that has been held in Kyoto City since 2021. The festival aims to produce and present experimental performance arts, and to stimulate new forms of dialogue in order to create interlinks between society and artistic expression. Experimental presentations that transcend the genre borders between theatre, dance, music and visual arts will gather here to give birth to new possibilities through creative, empirical and intellectual communications that take place. The key concept of this year is maze maze, meaning “mix mix” in Japanese, putting the spotlight on the mixing or blending of language, identity and culture through experimental performances from around the world.
