Located in the heart of the Gion district, the Gion Kagai Art Museum introduces visitors to the graceful world of geiko and maiko. This unique museum showcases their sophisticated culture through a diverse range of exhibits, from exquisite hand-painted Yuzen kimono and Nishijin brocade obi sashes, to kanzashi hair ornaments for each season and makeup items, accompanied by detailed explanations of this centuries-old tradition.

Live performances of traditional mai dances in the Inoue style and photo sessions with a geiko or maiko are also offered. Visitors can also visit the serene Chisen Water Garden, Kaburenjo Main Building Theater where geiko and maiko perform the annual Miyako Odori Dance Performance, and the Art Café which features local saké and Japanese whisky.
