To all the visitors of the Gion Festival Yoiyama and Yamahoko Procession
Crowding is expected to occur during the Gion Festival, so please cooperate with the following rules:
- The Gion Festival is held in a residential area where the locals go about their daily lives. Please do not forget to respect them and stay considerate of the local community.
- Please be careful of heat stroke. Take frequent breaks and drink plenty of liquids.
- Use public transportation when going to the Gion Festival.
- Please follow the instructions of police officers and staff to help prevent crowd-related accidents.
- Please refrain from riding on bicycles to prevent accidents. - Please refrain from eating while walking.
- Kyoto will set up additional garbage collection and cleaning services during the Gion Festival, however please cooperate with the city's efforts to stay clean and take your garbage home with you.
- Make use of the convenient "Yoiyama Guide". The guide is compatible with GPS and provides information on the floats, as well as on the location of garbage bins.
