This year's schedule for "Haru no Odori" has been decided.

 

"Haru no Odori" are annual spring dances held by maiko and geiko, bringing elegance to Kyoto's cherry blossom season.

 

The performances will be held in four of the traditional maiko and geiko quarters of Kyoto (known as Kagai). Gion Kobu, Miyagawacho, Pontocho and Kamishichiken will be holding their annual performances at the Kaburenjo theatres and other venues from late March to May. 

 

Seeing geiko and maiko perform is a rare opportunity, as they are usually difficult to meet in person. Their spring and autumn performances offer everyone a chance to experience their beautiful dance and music.
