Kyoto Geihinkan [Kyoto State Guest House]
Kyoto Geihinkan, the Kyoto State Guest House, which has been used as a national reception facility to provide foreign dignitaries with a warm hospitality since 2005.
It is a Japanese-style architecture built with the greatest techniques and materials gathered from around the country to promote better understanding of Japanese culture and friendship between Japan and foreign countries.
We open to the public year round when it is not used for foreign dignitaries, and an English guided tour is offered once a day from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. (gathering time:11:30 a.m.) On this tour, a Kyoto City-certified guide introduces the hidden details about the building, a well-designed garden and the works made with fine techniques by Living National Treasures and master craftsmen.
Join us and enjoy the each work which artisans devoted a great amount of time and effort to, through an out of the ordinary atmosphere.
