The Kyoto Cherry Blossom Calendar 2025 was updated today, providing current information on the blooming status of cherry trees in popular destinations such as temples and shrines.

Most locations in Kyoto are in full bloom, but some of them are beginning to scatter. The best time to visit the northern parts of the city will start this weekend however, as their cherry blossoms are expected to enter full bloom soon.

We received photos of Omuro-zakura (currently halfway to full bloom) from Ninna-ji Temple, as well as photos from Konkai Komyo-ji Temple, depicting their temple gate and cherry blossoms.

We have also received a photo of the Philosopher's Path (taken on April 10th) and the following comment from Kyoto Shimbun Newspaper:

"Falling cherry blossom petals have covered the Lake Biwa Canal, creating a flowing flower raft."
