This restaurant is located in Kyoto's main gay quarters Pontocho, and next on the north to Pontocho Kaburenjo Theater which is famous for the performance of the Kamogawa Dance. Since the foundation in 1929, the restaurant's owners have pursued delicious soba (buckwheat noodle) for three generations. Not only its special handmade soba, but also other dishes made with seasonal ingredients are very popular.Among Ukiya's many restaurants, only this main branch offers soba year round made from 100% buckwheat flour sourced from Japanese farms.
