Kyoto Fall Foliage Calendar 2018

The changing of the autumn leaves is a big event across Japan, but especially in Kyoto, because the city abounds with temples and other beautiful spots to take in the seasonal fall display. You’ll want to take your camera with you as you travel around the city at this time of year (fall has many nighttime events, too, so bring warm clothes as well!), but before you set out, take a look at our list of shrines, temples, and other locations below. Fall foliage in Kyoto changes from a sunny yellow to glowing orange to a rich crimson at different times in different regions of the city. Check the list below to see up-to-date information about what Kyoto’s maple leaves look like at the moment!
