Kobo Market at To-ji Temple

This market is held on the To-ji Temple grounds on the 21st of each month on the anniversary of the death of the famous Buddhist monk Kukai. There are usually over 1,000 stalls selling antiques, secondhand clothing, old furniture, and more, and the market is visited by 200,000 people each month. The market will still be held in the case of rain. The January market is known as "Hatsu Kobo" and the December market is known as Shimai Kobo."

Free within temple grounds (A separate fee is required for viewing the temple)

Kondo Hall/Lecture Hall: Adults (University Students and above) 500 yen, High School Students 400 yen, Middle School Students and younger 300 yen

Kanchi-in Sub-temple: Adults 500 yen, Middle School Students and younger 300 yen (Prices may vary during special openings, etc.)
