Jikkoku-bune Boat Ride Through Fushimi, Sake Brewery District

The “jikkoku-bune” is a boat that carried rice, sake, and travelers along the Yodo River during the Edo Period (1603-1868). Back in commission as a sightseeing boat, the boat carries twenty passengers for a 50 minute round-trip journey along the Uji River, with its scenery of sake breweries and willow trees.

March 21 (Thu, national holiday) – December 8 (Sun), 2019
*Boats will run every day during April, May, October, and November
*During the period from June – September, boat services will be suspended on Monday each week (Service will run as usual when Monday is a national holiday)
*During August, boat service will run only from the 1st to the 16th (Closed on Monday)

Venue

Boarding from behind the Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum by the river
Boat Course: Departure – dock at Misunokomon (for visit) – back on boat – return to port (Approx. 50 minutes round trip)

Directions

Keihan Main Line to Chushojima Station, and walk ten minutes

Price

1,200 yen (Middle School Students and above), 600 yen (Elementary School Age), 300 yen (Up to Elementary School age)
