Jikkoku-bune Boat Ride Through Fushimi, Sake Brewery District

The “jikkoku-bune” is a boat that carried rice, sake, and travelers along the Yodo River during the Edo Period (1603-1868). Back in commission as a sightseeing boat, the boat carries twenty passengers for a 55 minute round-trip journey along the Uji River, with its scenery of sake breweries and willow trees.

Date & Time

April 1 (Mon) – November 30 (Sat), 2019 (As currently planned)
*Boats will run every day during April, May, October, and November
*During the period from June – September, boat services will be suspended on Monday each week (Service will run as usual when Monday is a national holiday)
*During August, boat service will run only from the 11th to the 16th (As of last year’s service)

Venue

Along the River east of Choken-ji Temple (As of last year)
Boat Course: Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum to Fushimi Port Park (Approx. 55 minutes round trip)
