To-ji Temple is famous for the market it holds on the 21st of each month on the anniversary of the death of the famous Buddhist monk Kukai. During this first market of the new year, the temple grounds will be filled with 1,200 stalls selling antiques, local goods, potted plants and other garden items, pottery, and much more.
