During this annual event, some of Kyoto’s most famous temples and shrines, other historical and cultural heritage sites, and city streets will be transformed into festive pathways down which you’ll find yourself wanting to walk. About 5 kilometers of pathway in the Saga-Arashiyama Area will be decorated with traditional lanterns and large ikebana displays.
Location: Saga-Arashiyama Area (From Nakanoshima-koen Park, across Togetsukyo Bridge, through Tenryu-ji Temple area to the Sagano Bamboo Walking Paths and surrounding temples, shrines, etc.)

●ROHM co. presents “Pathway of Light and Blossoms”
Taking advantage of the nature, waterfront, bamboo forest and historical cultural assets of the Saga Arashiyama region, a walkway of approximately 5 km will be illuminated with lanterns; imbued with a Japanese ambiance, even in the shadows between them. The blossoms of large flower arrangements will also decorate the avenue, creating a pathway that naturally beckons one to walk.
●Light-up of the Togetsukyo Bridge Area
A magnificently beautiful nightscape will be created by illuminating the Togetsukyo Bridge, foothills, and the surrounding waterfront.
●Light-up of All Bamboo Forest Walkways
The bamboo pathways from Nonomiya-jinja Shrine to Okouchi Sanso Villa will be lit-up on both sides to create truly magical scenery.
●Flower Arrangement Promenade
With the cooperation from Kyoto Ikebana Association, large flower arrangement pieces will be put on display along the “pathway of light and blossoms.”
