Moon-Viewing Festival at Matsuno-o-taisha Shrine

Every year on the night of the harvest moon, following a ritual at 5:15 p.m., dedications will be held in the form of koto (Japanese harp) performances, both alone and accompanying old-style shakuhachi (a kind of ancient Japanese flute), as well as a Japanese taiko drum performance. Other festivities include haiku recitations, and free steamed sweet bean buns (“tsukimi manju”) and barreled sake (as currently planned).
