Experience Buddhist teachings by copying a Sutra with a paint brush and vermillion ink. After a short purification ceremony, guests sit down at small desks to copy the 262 characters of the Heart Sutra. Experience or Japanese knowledge are not necessary as the letters are printed in light grey on the paper. By tracing the lines in red ink, the participant can calm body and mind and get a feel for Buddhist teachings. After copying the sutra and offering it at the Buddhist altar, Matcha green tea and sweets are served in a separate room while the participants may enjoy the view of the garden.
The fee for the transcription experience and Matcha green tea is 1,500 Yen and open between 9 am and 3.30 pm.
