The Kyoto City Subway is composed of 2 lines (the Karasuma Line running north-south, and the Tozai Line running east-west.)
  • Karasuma Line:This line runs north-south through central Kyoto. It passes through Kyoto Station, the Kitaoji Bus Terminal, and other transfer points for trains and buses.
  • Tozai Line: Tozai Line: This line runs east-west through central Kyoto. It is convenient for going to Nijo-jo Castle and Heian-jingu Shrine. It is possible to transfer to the Karasuma Line at Karasuma-Oike Station.

Tickets&Fares
