Randen (Keifuku Electric Railroad)

Randen (Keifuku Electric Railroad)

The Keifuku Randen Tram Line is operated by the private company Keifuku Electric Railroad. The Randen actually consists of two lines in the west of Kyoto city. The Arashiyama Line runs east-west from Shijo-Omiya Station to Keifuku Arashiyama Station. The Kitano Line branches from the Arashiyama Line at Katabiranotsuji Station and runs north to Kitano Hakubaicho Station.

The Tramway takes riders from central Kyoto to Arashiyama and sightseeing spots in northwestern Kyoto (Toei Kyoto Studio Park, Ninna-ji Temple, etc.).

Tickets&Fares

  • One ride on the Randen costs 250 JPY, regardless of destination.
  • Half price for children.
  • IC cards that can be used nationwide can be used on Randen.

Attention

  • Use any door to get on the train, but when getting off, please use the door at the front of the tram.  For trams with two cars, you will enter from the rear door of the front car.
  • Tram fare is paid when getting off, so you do not need to scan your IC card at the beginning of the ride. At Shijo-Omiya, Katabiranotsuji, Arashiyama, and Kitano Hakubaicho Stations, pay at the ticket gate in the station. At other stations pay at the fare box at the front of the tram when getting off.
