Free Kyoto City guides are available at any Starbucks or Seven-Eleven (Japan's largest convenience store chain).

Kyoto City has one hundred and fifteen Seven-Eleven stores and eighteen Starbucks (as of October 30, 2012). All shops offer sightseeing and transportation guides for the area as well as free tourist maps in English.
