Suppon is a type of turtle and is part of Japan's gourmet cuisine. Although it is not normally found in one's daily diet, suppon is very nutritious, low in calories, and delicious, having been eaten since ancient times. Turtle blood is also extremely healthy and is often served with wine. However, many Japanese can't quite stomach the dish.

Sumibi-yaki
Sumibi-yaki is a type of small-scale barbeque where meat, fish, and vegetables are cooked on a miniature, charcoal grill called a shichirin. This differs from Western barbeques in that only a few, small pieces are cooked at time. These are then quickly gobbled up before the next items are placed on the grill. Flames cook the inside of the meat, eliciting the best possible flavor.
